KTM 390 Duke launched at Rs 1.80 lakh

One of the most awaited motorcycles in the country, the KTM 390 Duke, can be all yours at an incredible price tag of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-Showroom Delhi). Bookings to commence from June 26, 2013

It’s finally here! The eagerly anticipated bike from Austrian off-road motorcycle specialist KTM, the 390 Duke, has been launched. Its younger sibling the 200 Duke arrived in India early last year and really set the benchmark of just how much fun a high-performance small-capacity single-cylinder motorcycle can be. Aimed at addressing the vacant space between the 200cc and the 600cc segment, the 390 Duke seeks to take the 200’s madness a little further. And this isn’t just a bike for India mind you – KTM, along with Bajaj, has designed this new motorcycle to sell across all of KTM’s international markets (about 80-odd countries) much like its smaller capacity 200cc sibling. Stylistically, not much has changed from the 200 Duke. The 390 uses pretty much the same chassis and cycle parts but to set itself apart, features a white colour scheme on the tank panels along with the trellis frame and wheels powder coated in customary KTM orange. The choice of colours really does help the 390 distinguish itself but the bike’s real piece-de-resistance is its 375cc single-cylinder engine which puts out a whopping 45PS of power and 35Nm of torque. As it keeps most of the external components same as the 200 Duke, the 390 Duke is able to weigh in at a fairly featherweight 145kg. Combine that mad power output and the low kerb weight, and you’ve got some serious performance on your hands.
